Poems 2012

The rain whispers insidious little secrets
Which penetrate heat's vast blanket
And the slight rain swept breeze pours through
And coolness beckons to the night.
As a mist curtain draws itself blocking out stars
Draping the reluctant moon
Which shimmers sullenly through the darkness.
The rain haunts me.
Its secrets circle my soul
Like evil dancers in a frenzy death dance
Again I see the trickle turn to deluge.
Again I see the fluid mud brown wall
Covering all it passes
But the stars gleam in the sapphire velvet sky
The moon shines down in silver
And helicopter searchlights violate the darkness
Their engines beating strong against the stillness
Hideous moths against a lighted window
Flying far, far, beyond the ruined city.
